Thanks for choosing Premium CBD Labs for your testing. The following are some basic guidelines for potency testing submissions of various types. Feel free to reach out to us with any question about sampling, shipping, or testing. We’re happy to help guide you through the process.

SOME IMPORTANT NOTES:

  •  First, in order to test with us, you’ll need to set up an account on our website. Part of that account setup is uploading a photo or scan of your hemp license. Without those, we cannot process your samples.

  •  Samples will not be processed until payment is received.

  •  Moldy or improperly sealed samples will be rejected.

  •  Samples that are extremely large in size may be rejected.

  • Sample sizes vary for each test being done. You can see size requirements in the notes for each test on our TESTS page.

  • -Samples without a CHAIN OF CUSTODY/SAMPLE SUBMISSION FORM will be rejected.

FOR ALL SAMPLES:

  • Fill out the chain of custody/submission form. After filling out this form, sample labels should be emailed to you automatically. Using these labels will help expedite processing.

  • The SAMPLE ID is what will appear on your COA.

  • The Sample Type should reflect what you are sending in. Leaf, flower, biomass, seed, oil, lotion,

    tincture, distillate, etc.

  • Sample labels will automatically be emailed to you as well as a copy of your submission form.

Using these labels will help expedite processing, however they are not necessary. You can use tape, a small adhesive printer label, or another method, as long as the label matches the SAMPLE ID on the submission form.

  • Specific guidelines for plant matter or processed product are on the following page.

LEAF/FLOWER/BIOMASS

  • Prior to gathering each sample, sterilize clipping shears with alcohol swabs to prevent contamination between samples.

  • Label or tag the plants you’re sampling from for reference. Make sure that label matches the SAMPLE ID you’re using on your submission. If clipping multiple plants for one sample, make sure your tag is identical on each of those plants.

  • For flower, trim 2” from the tip of the cola, or very top of the plant for the most potent sample. Trim away as much leaf as possible.

  • Biomass should be homogenized (mixed and ground up).

  • Dry your sample as much as you can before sending it in. Water only dilutes your sample and

wet samples may mold in shipping. Moldy samples will be rejected.

  • Place your sample in an airtight container (a Ziploc sandwich bag is fine) and Label the sample

using sample labels provided. You can use tape, a small adhesive printer label, or another

method, as long as the label matches the SAMPLE ID on the submission form.

  • Double bagging your plant sample will cut down on odor during shipping.

OIL/TINCTURE/LOTION/DISTILLATE/EXTRACT

  • All liquid samples should be placed into a rigid, sealed container. A sample vial, tube, dropper

    bottle etc.

  • Label the sample using sample labels provided. You can use tape, a small adhesive printer label,

or another method, as long as the label matches the SAMPLE ID on the submission form. You

can also place the sample container in a Ziploc bag and label the bag.

  • Pad the exterior of the sample vial with absorbent material in case of spillage and to reduce risk

    of breakage during shipment.

  • All liquid samples must be double sealed, meaning, one sealed container inside of another

sealed container. A vial or bottle inside a Ziploc bag. Or dropper bottle inside a disposable Tupperware. This is to ensure safe transport and to comply with transportation regulations.

OTHER GUIDELINES

  • Each strain of plant should be tested separately.

  • Plants should be tested 3-5 times prior to harvest. From the point of flowering, it’s

recommended to test weekly to monitor prior to harvest.

  •  Each processed batch of product should be tested separately.
